From kindergarten expansion kit to modular parking garage:

Systematic product development at CHRISTMANN + PFEIFER leads to TOP 100 innovator award

A look through the bright window fronts of a kindergarten always gives an idea of how deeply pre-school children have just sunk into their play worlds: Little adventurers set off on new expeditions, try, discard, change the route until they reach their destination. And then the flag is hoisted. Made it!

Easy and playful? About expeditions and innovations

Incidentally, such a scene is also possible at CHRISTMANN + PFEIFER. Adult explorers by profession are actually looking for new territory here. For example in our innovation team. Well, it's a bit tamer when you peer through our office windows. No crowds on the floor. But: The crowd has only changed places. New adventures are planned and implemented in the mind. Our innovators are allowed, yes, should discover new territory and define new terrain.

"Normally, construction is always strictly according to plan, everything is precisely specified and implemented. Know-how and experience are required. Unfortunately, there is usually no know-how for new ideas and strategies, only our own drive to implement them. Our innovation team works in business development to find exactly these new paths and to pave them for C + P. Creativity and a pioneering spirit determine our actions”, explains Mark Althaus, Innovation Manager at C + P, the procedure.

A method that has proven itself. This is how our easy and quick to set up Preflex Parking Garage was created less than ten years ago, and today it has long been a fixture in our product catalog. The latest member of the product family are modular buildings.

“It doesn't always make sense to build massively and for the maximum expected useful life. Sometimes it is even more sustainable and resource-efficient to be able to respond quickly to changing requirements. The modular design is ideal for this. And coming from steel construction, we are completely convinced of our flexible, but durable raw material as a building material", evaluates Michael Penning, sales manager of the C + P modular construction division.

And what can possibly be built and created from steel modules? Everything! The new objects have nothing in common with containers and container charm. Neither visually nor in terms of comfort. Modular construction is suitable – as the model house at the company's location in Angelburg shows – for offices, hotel buildings and residential use alike. A modular sales pavilion is currently being built for a well-known company. “And for us, educational buildings in particular – whether kindergarten or school – are ideal uses", adds Michael Penning.

Think modularly – letting education take place in modules: Educational buildings of a new generation

This is exactly where we start with our modular construction solutions for kindergarten construction. Speed, cost security, adherence to deadlines and flexibility are decisive factors. With the modular design, the construction time is reduced by up to 70 percent compared to the conventional design. An absolute plus for everyone who wants to build a daycare center, because time is often a decisive factor here. Thanks to the industrial production and just-in-time delivery of the room modules, deadlines can be met realiably. Just like the costs: We guarantee a reliable calculation with a fixed price – unpleasant surprises are excluded! There is even a modular expansion kit: an existing building can be quickly and easily expanded to include space for one more group.

C + P secures its place among the TOP 100 innovators in medium-sized companies

The C + P innovations sound playful at first. Innovative strength is a measurable factor and has long been scientifically and empirically documented. The innovation potential of C + P was recently examined as part of the competition for Germany's TOP 100 innovators and evaluated in the categories of innovation success, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization, external orientation / open innovation and innovation-promoting top management. And lo and behold: C + P made it into the TOP 100 of the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany!

“Our company will soon be 100 years old. If we hadn't always been innovative, we wouldn't have been able to survive this long! But it's good to be able to demonstrate this", says managing partner Rolf Heinecke.

And so we are happy about the current award. And look forward to the the next daycare modules that are commissioned. Because among the children who start their expeditions there on the floor there are probably also the C + P innovators of tomorrow!
