CHRISTMANN + PFEIFER continues the "from-the-heart work" of past years by supporting the "Bärenherz" children's hospice with the 2014 Christmas donation to "Children's Hearts – Patronage Association of German Children's Heart Centers" which is based in Bonn.

The "Patronage Association of German Children's Heart Centers" was founded in 1989 by doctors and the parents of children suffering from heart disease. The aim of their initiative is to significantly improve the treatment options for children with heart disease. Little patients, regardless of where they are born, should be given a chance to live a carefree life. The "Children's Hearts – Patronage Association of German Children's Heart Centers" association is increasing its efforts to ensure that research and better operation and therapy options are able to sustainably help children with heart disease. Every child born in Germany with a heart defect should, in future, have the same chance of recovery. The construction of the Sankt Augustin Children's Heart Center in 1997 was an initial important step to achieving this aim. In 2000, the German Children's Heart Center, one of the most modern of its type in Europe, was inaugurated. This has created the optimum conditions for doubling the number of operations from the current 320 per annum. It is a contact point for a large number of people seeking assistance. Further children's heart centers are intended to follow throughout Germany, among others one will be built in the vicinity of CHRISTMANN + PFEIFER in Gießen.
