Double power for your career with two different apprenticeships
A strong as steel career start

Fabian and C + P: they've been a great fit for several years now! He knows the team, processes, products, and structures inside out - even from two different perspectives. And all this despite the fact that he is currently still in the middle of his training to become a Technical Systems Planner. He explains how this is possible in a short interview.
You have been part of the C + P team for several years now: What has your career path been like so far?
I started out with an apprenticeship as a Construction Mechanic in steel construction manufacturing. There, I was involved in the creation of our steel structures and manufactured steel constructions according to technical plans. This further sparked my interest in steel construction. I quickly realized that I wanted to continue learning!
After discussions with my superiors and the human resources department, I was given the opportunity to start another apprenticeship as a Technical Systems Planner after my final exam.
Do you benefit from the knowledge you gained during your initial training?
Yes, definitely! As a Technical Systems Planner, I draw and calculate structures and create construction plans for manufacturing. In my first apprenticeship, I basically built the exact same projects that I plan today. Thanks to my prior knowledge from steel construction practice, I was able to skip the first year of training and start directly in the second year.
What do you particularly like about C + P?
The working atmosphere is very friendly and collegial - across departments and locations. The large construction projects are impressive, and there is a lot of variety because every project is different. You also get a lot of support here and can ask questions at any time.
You are in the youth and trainee representative committee. How did that come about?
Our works council chairperson asked me if I would be interested in joining the youth and trainee representative committee. I liked the idea of actively supporting young people in the company and decided to stand for election. And it worked out! Now I work closely with the works council and am learning a lot in addition to job-specific things.
Would you follow the same career path again?
Yes! Everything worked out very well for me!
